About TCI

TCI Management Consultants was founded in 1991. The firm consists of senior level management consultants (formerly with one of the 'Big 6' consulting firms) who espouse a philosophy of providing personalized and direct service to clients. Collectively, the individuals who comprise the firm offer well over 100 years of consulting experience.

Richard specializes in strategic market planning, and market identification and economics assignments. He has worked for clients in a wide variety of industries and the public sector. He has expertise in advanced technology industries, especially telecommunications, and the cultural sector, particularly publishing, and sound recording. He was a senior partner in Ernst and Young's marketing and economics consulting practice for 10 years, prior to co-founding TCI Management Consultants.

Lorne specializes in undertaking policy formulation, strategic marketing and business planning assignments, including the development of new businesses. Some specific areas of concentration include facilitating joint ventures, tactical and strategic planning, management/worker training, program reviews and organizational potential. Lorne has applied these skills in a number of sectors, including aerospace and Canada's First Nations. He is also greatly skilled at group facilitation, and has helped many organizations improve their listening skills, refine their internal communication processes, and develop strategic plans for the future. Lorne is a licensed practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator process, and has applied this technique in some of his consulting work as well.

 

Jon Linton

Jon has undertaken numerous projects in the arts, cultural, recreation and entertainment sectors including strategic and business planning, audience research and development, membership surveys, pricing strategies, feasibility studies, public policy development, social and economic impact assessments, and program evaluations. He is experienced with a wide variety of research methodologies and has directed several hundred projects in the cultural sector. He has also undertaken numerous economic impact assessments, using local, provincial and national input-output models. He has been involved in the design and management of over 200 separate surveys, and has directed many public policy and regional economic development projects, as well as assignments in the fields of hospitality, tourism, arts, culture and recreation for both the private and public sectors. Jon was formerly Director of the Ernst & Young's Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Group in Canada. In over 20 years of consulting experience Jon has conducted work for a broad range of clients including Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Center, Metro Toronto Zoo, Vancouver Art Gallery, Canadian Federation of Friends of Museums, the National Club, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the O'Keefe Center.

Formerly with CDSL Canada Ltd. in the product management of network and remote systems, Rob specializes in product pricing strategy, market and competitive research, and relationship marketing. He has over 14 years of experience in the financial services and health care information technology industries, and has been active in a wide variety of marketing, business development, research and technical roles. He also has extensive international experience, having been involved in projects in Europe, Australia, and South East Asia. Rob has worked extensively on a variety of relationship marketing projects and has been involved in several arts and tourism-related assignments.

Steve specializes in the identification and implementation of opportunities for improvement in organization programs and processes. He has successfully carried out and project managed a wide variety of domestic and international management consulting assignments involving business strategy and more recently, organizational transformation. Clients served include major multi-national companies, medium sized firms and public sector clients (including those who are moving toward revenue dependency). In completing these multi-disciplinary projects, Steve has done the following for clients: identify critical core and supporting business processes; review the workload of various functional areas; assess the effectiveness of the staff resources; review the development, timeliness and suitability of their measurement and management information systems; define a preferred future state; and develop and undertake change management interventions. As a result, he is familiar with best practices in a wide range of industry sectors. Geographic scope of the projects he has completed includes Canada, U.S.A., Europe, and Asia. He also has direct work experience in marketing management (including all aspects of supplier partnering and use of marketing information systems) as a result of carrying out responsibilities for market planning and program implementation for a major multi-national for six years. Prior to starting TCI Management Consultants, Steve was a senior member of Ernst & Young's Marketing Strategy Practice and Environmental Management Systems Group.

Greg, a Director of TCI Management Consultants Limited specializes in marketing strategy, market research, training, revenue generation and public policy analysis. He is experienced in a wide range of assignments such as strategic planning, market research, surveys, focus groups, policy development, privatization projects, economic development, impact assessments, financial modeling and program evaluations. He is an editor of CCH Canadian's Training and Development Guide reference manual and newsletter. He has consulted extensively with a wide range of industries, government and not-for-profit organizations. His particular expertise involves development of strategies and policies at a senior level to effect change in organizations and industry sectors by focusing on resource generation opportunities and effective asset management.
